CUFA is a Brazilian organization with more than 20 years of social action in favelas and periphery territories, through cultural, artistic, sports, educational, and social responsibility projects. Historically, Central Única das Favelas has worked with large cultural and sports projects, bringing visibility to the favelas, and has diversified with a greater focus on entrepreneurship, education, and technology, leveraging partnerships with several companies. Training, education, and entrepreneurship are seen as the main focus of CUFA's activities in the future. CUFA is present in several favelas in the 26 Brazilian states and the Federal District. It is a nationally awarded institution and internationally recognized for its actions and projects. Among the awards, there is one granted by the United Nations (UN). CUFA was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1998 and one of its main objectives is to be a vector for promoting integration and social inclusion, empowering the populations of the favelas, as well as their symbolic and physical integrity.
