About Cupola Contemporary Art
Established in 1991, Cupola Contemporary Art now comprises both a gallery and a framing department (Cupola Framing). The gallery has grown to become one of the largest, most respected private galleries in the North of England for the exhibiting and sale of contemporary art and fine craft across a wide range of disciplines. Painting, printmaking, sculpture, textiles, ceramic, glass and jewellery are all represented. Cupola shows the work of local, national and international artists, many recent graduates as well as the more established. The gallery is made up of four spaces and a sculpture garden. Two spaces are dedicated to temporary themed and solo shows, whilst the rest of the gallery has a constantly changing display of work. All pieces for sale and the gallery operates the 'Own Art' interest free purchase scheme run by Arts Council England. The framing department is located next door to the gallery and specialises in quality bespoke framing for original works, although we will happily frame anything. All frames are made to conservation level as standard although museum level is available as well. Staff are highly trained and knowledgeable and are happy to help offer advice and guidance if required. We look forward to welcoming you to Cupola.
