Curbstone Beauty makes Rock n' Roll reign supreme in Detroit. From harmonies, driving bass and face melting guitar riffs, we prove that Detroit Rock n’ Roll will never die! Our motto is "We will never rock as hard as the Epic rock gods before us, but we rock as hard as we do in their name." Curbstone Beauty is 4 dedicated and motivated musicians. Established in Metro-Detroit in 2006 , twins Kyle Torpey (lead singer) and Evan Torpey (drums) grew up in a musical family. The Torpey’s dad toured with national acts such as the legendary “Diana Ross” and Detroit’s own “The Rockets.” The twins added high school friend Scott Beckman on guitar/backing vocals and Patrick Laabs on bass/backing vocals. Curbstone Beauty received our unique name from a local Detroit homeless man. The band saw the man as he picked up a finished cigarette on the side of the street and watched him proceeded to smoke what was left. Evan approached the man while loading up his drums and offered him some new cigarettes. The man refused and replied, "I'm just looking for a little Curbstone Beauty." The name stuck and stands out in the Detroit Music Scene. Having opened for national touring acts like L.A. Guns, Brett Michaels (from Poison), 7 Mary Three, Slaughter, Stephen Pearcy (of Ratt) and metal legend Anvil, Curbstone Beauty is ready to rock to the next level. Sometimes we all find ourselves in that place where we ask for a chance to be heard. Give us that chance and listen! Our music is a hard driving, high energy blast capturing the vibe and soul of the Motor City. We create original rock & roll songs and melodies that will linger in your presence!
