Developing the Next Gen Cyber Workforce and Educators. Core Functions -Serve as an authority leader for, with and among Texas communities -As a thought leader, advise and collaborate with business, government and academic leaders -Identify, capture and champion opportunities -Design and develop cybersecurity curriculum for Texas middle and high schools -Conduct business analysis and participate in and support economic impact studies Persistent Goals -Develop and offer cyber-based curriculum for statewide use in middle and high schools -Organize cyber workforce development initiatives supporting local, state and national efforts to develop -Implement cyber/cybersecurity Program of Study (POS) for middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities -Organize CyberPatriot efforts in each community and State recognition programs for middle and high school teams competing in Air Force Association CyberPatriot cyber defense competition Economic Development -Lend Texas communities support on behalf of Texas DIR and Texas Cybersecurity, Education and Economic Development Council (TCEEDC) -Work with state and local Economic Development Departments to develop and execute comprehensive integrated cyber/cybersecurity business retention, recruitment and development plans -Facilitate legislation and initiatives supporting TCEEDC, industry and academic entities -Organize annual Texas Cybersecurity Summits and periodic cybersecurity seminars Preparedness -Work with UTSA Center for Infrastructure and Security and other Texas NSA/DHS CAE/IAE officials to develop, test, and exercise community Cyber Incident Management Plans -Develop a consortium of public and private partnerships focused on information sharing processes and capabilities of the community public safety/homeland security community
