About Cymdeithas Eryri - Snowdonia Society

The Snowdonia Society is an active conservation charity, which since 1967 has worked to protect and enhance Snowdonia and its National Park for the benefit of all. Teams of Snowdonia Society volunteers are out each week and in all weathers tackling the essential work that is always needed. We work in partnership with organisations large and small and focus our efforts on the priorities - clearing litter, maintaining footpaths, tackling invasive species and managing habitats for the benefit of wildlife. Volunteers make good things happen which couldn't happen without them. That's why we invest heavily in providing transport, training (including accredited training), work experience and other opportunities to recognise what volunteers give to Snowdonia and give something back to them. We put much work into building positive partnerships and projects that deliver benefits to the landscape, wildlife and cultural heritage of the area - again working closely with local businesses, local communities and partner organisations. When necessary the Snowdonia Society also campaigns without fear or favour to protect the special qualities of Snowdonia from threats which range from irresponsible behaviour to inappropriate developments and ill-considered government policies. We are a committed bunch. Our broad-based membership supports a small staff and a huge volunteer programme. Between us we get a lot done. Every day we are busy working towards a better protected, more beautiful and wildlife-rich National Park, with opportunities for all to enjoy it and contribute to it.
