About Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics
Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics is a modern scientific institution of the Czech Technical University (CIIRC CTU) bringing together excellent research teams, young talents and unique know-how in order to push the boundaries of technology and carry on the best of the long-standing traditions of the Czech technical education. There are four pillars that build the foundation of CIIRC CTU research activities – industry, energetics, smart cities and society well-being in both basic and applied research. Transfer of technology from the academic sphere into practice is an important commitment for us. CIIRC CTU was founded by the then rector Havlíček in 2013 and currently has more than 260 employees, of which 20 are professors who take part in training of 60 students in graduate programmes. CIIRC CTU is a dynamic and growing institution aiming to offer positons for up to 300 employees by 2020, mainly in research. The institute has 8 research departments that are accompanied by units - Centres and Testbed for Industry 4.0. Area of expertise of CIIRC CTU is wide and stands upon interdisciplinary cooperation and covers fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, automatic control and optimization, computer graphics, computer vision and machine learning, automatic reasoning, designing software systems and computer devices, designing decision support and diagnostic systems and using these systems in medical applications, distributed decision support systems, industrial diagnostics, telematics, and designing user-friendly and beneficial solutions for citizens. CIIRC CTU comes with a unique ecosystem of cooperation of universities and industry using diversified forms of project financing from national, European and private funds.
