About Dad's Place

When my father got to the age of needing assistance, he moved in with me and remained for 5 years. As his needs grew bigger than I could manage alone, I started to look for nearby homes. Unfortunately, I could not find what I was looking for. He went into a "paid for" facility for Veterans, and it took him 2 years of misery to get to the point that he agreed to spend his money on a small home that would provide the care he so desperately needed. Again, I could not find what I was looking for and settled for “OK” care in Granite Bay. Very quickly we came up with the plan to start our own RCFE, and Dad's Place was born. All my life's experiences had led to this moment. All the skills and knowledge needed to care for the elderly and run a powerful organization led with compassion and proficiency were things I had worked towards my entire life. The heart of every organization is most clearly defined by its caregivers. We hire based on the person’s heart and passion for the elderly. All skills can be taught if the person has the required dedication and affection. Dad’s Place vision is to provide love to those needing care and do it in a setting as close to home as we can get. I believe we have achieved that goal, and I am proud to pass this legacy on to my children and grandchildren. We have 2 locations, one in Auburn and one in Loomis and both are 6 bed homes that feel like home, not an institution.
