About Dame Allan's Schools
Dame Allan's Schools are group of independent schools for children aged 3-18 based in Newcastle upon Tyne. We are the only education provider in the North East to follow the ‘Diamond Structure’ of education. Children in our Junior School and Nursery are educated together until aged 11. From there, pupils separate into single-sex Boys' and Girls' Schools from 11-16 years old, before being taught together again in the Sixth Form. This offers the academic benefits of single-sex education with the social merits of co-education. Founded in 1705, we pride ourselves on the Schools’ family atmosphere and traditional values. We believe in providing a holistic approach, valuing extra-curricular activities of equal importance as academic learning. Strong pastoral support underpins this approach within a safe and supportive environment.
