Dance Center Prague - conservatoire was founded in 1961 and based in Prague. It is the first educational and art institution which brings modern jazz techniques into the Czech dance culture and connects classical ballet with contemporary dance theatre. Together with the Charles University of Prague and professionals from abroad, the company has evolved to become a world class institution running dance, art and general education classes. Also, within our scope as a publicly funded higher educational institutions, those are the performance company the Ballet Prague Junior (16-18 years old students), Baby Ballet Prague (14-16 years old students) and an agency which provides pedagogical teaching, choreographers, and performance companies for our talented young people. A lot of talanted students graduated TCP and continued their career in the czech dance companies (Ballet of the National Theatre in Prague, Prague Chamber Ballet, Laterna Magika and others) and in the dance companies abroad (Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburk, Hague, Barcelona, Lisbonб Pécs and others). While some of the students went to dance companies, others continued their education in the universities (Charles University, HAMU etc.) In order to continue to develop ourselves and provide the best education for our young people we are continually looking for partners, choreographers, teachers from other countries, to incorporate their traditions and culture with ours. This cooperation of vision and exchange ideas helps our young people to grow and become more creative.
