About Darfur Victims Support Organization (DVS)
The Darfur Victims Support Organization (DVS) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to advocating for the rights and welfare of victims of the Darfur conflict. Since its inception, DVS has worked tirelessly to document human rights violations, provide legal support to victims, and raise awareness of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Darfur. The organization serves as a critical voice for those who have been marginalized and oppressed, ensuring that their stories are heard and their rights are defended. However, to sustain and expand its efforts, DVS requires financial and administrative support to maintain its operations and establish a permanent headquarters. Our Vision: To provide support for victims of violations of humanitarian provisions due to armed conflict in the Darfur region. Our Mission To advocate strategically for victims’ access to justice and accountability for perpetrators of violation. The idea to address human rights violations in Darfur emerged in 2010 while I was a student at Omdurman Islamic University. In collaboration with my friend Mr. Adam Abuker, we founded Darfur Victims Support in 2016, using Facebook as a platform to highlight the atrocities. The organization, now fully operational since August 14, 2023, is a non-profit, non-governmental entity registered in Alfasher office in Darja, North Darfur State, Sudan.
