ARCHITECTURAL LIGHTING, PROUDLY DESIGNED & MANUFACTURED IN MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA Darkon is a 100% Australian-owned manufacturer specialising in handcrafted, bespoke lighting solutions. Established in 2007, we are proud to offer Australia’s largest range of proprietary extruded aluminium profiles, along with a diverse selection of locally produced architectural downlights and our original collection of ‘classic/contemporary’ decorative lighting. In 2021, Darkon launched its state-of-the-art ‘Advanced Manufacturing 4.0’ facility in Melbourne. This 5,000m2 plant is equipped with in-house research and design capabilities, along with advanced machinery, including metal and acrylic laser cutting, fully CNC-machined extrusion lines, a specialised laser-welding metal shop, downlight production workshop, and onsite powder-coating. Located in Broadmeadows, our facility is at the heart of Darkon’s innovation and solutions-based approach to lighting. DARKON’s foundation lies in its commitment to the company’s Research and Development activities which facilitate the provision of customised solutions for a diverse range of project requirements requiring short lead times. The product design process is driven by a ‘universal design’ philosophy which accommodates the ability to interchange mounting applications across product families and facilitate backwards integration of generational upgrades in electrical technology. Darkon’s goniophotometer accommodates the industry’s demand for current ‘absolute photometry’ .ies data files. Quality BIM & REVIT family content generation is also evidence of our commitment to the Architecture & Design community. As proud partners of global lighting innovators – HEPER – we hold exclusive Australian distribution rights for their exterior architectural luminaires. In collaboration with Austrian LED experts Tridonic, Darkon delivers turnkey solutions that meet the highest industry standards.
