Companies often experience problems when trying to obtain data that is crucial for management decisions: the data might be scattered over a multitude of online and offline sources, turns out to be partly or totally unstructured or is incompatible with other known data, etc. It is DataWoods' goal to help companies to efficiently unlock this hermetic data and to quickly transform it into genuinely workable company-relevant information. More specifically, DataWoods develops (custom) bussiness intelligence tools that are able to search, interpret and integrate large amounts of data in an intelligent and context-sensitive manner. We make use of state of the art computer science, i.e. methods and principles from the fields of Artificial Intelligence (focusing on datamining and machine learning), formal logic, data crawling, as well as the most up to date web technology. With respect to the actual coding of our products and services, we mostly use the following tools (i.e. languages and platforms): JSE, JEE, GlassFish, RegEx, SQL, and Drupal. Our present core product is TenderWolf, an 'intelligent tender management tool'. Searching for interesting tenders in Europe is often a very tedious and time consuming activity, much prone to human error. On average, every day, more than 1000 tenders are published by national and local governments.
