About Daughters of Charity Child and Family Services
The Daughters of Charity Child and Family Service (DoCCFS) is a not for profit public service organisation. We provide a range of therapeutic supportive services to children and families based in the greater Dublin region. Our Services include an Early Childhood Development Service (ECDS), Family Centre Service, Dublin Safer Families Service and Assessment Services. FAMILY CENTRES Our Family Centres offer a range of therapeutic supportive interventions to children up to the age of 18 years and their parents or carers. Our approach to working with families is needs led, strengths based and solution focussed. Our model of service delivery has three aims; - To support children and families develop coping skills and resilience. - To help families to develop social supports within their family and in the local community. - To support the development of attachment and positive relationships. Our aim is to provide a free, flexible service to families to include individual sessions, parenting, family group work, home visits, outreach and a drop-in facility. EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT SERVICE (ECDS) We have 6 Early Childhood Development Service (ECDS) centres located in Ballyfermot, South West inner City, Inchicore, North Strand and County Meath. Our Centres follow a play based curriculum, are Siolta accredited and follow the Aistear curriculum. Our professionally trained staff use Child Observational Records which support the child’s development in confidence, competence and creativity through developmental areas such as movement and music, maths and science, language and communication. Working to best practice guidelines and legislation which strives to protect the rights and welfare of children. Parents are supported and included through the provision of parenting programmes, educational talks, Parents Advisory Committees, family fun days, sports days and open days. We also provide services through our Assessment Centres and Dublin Safer Families Service.
