Whatever level of services you or your loved one may need, from independent living to residential care, Daughters of Miriam Center/The Gallen Institute can help. Founded in 1921 as a Jewish home for the aged and orphans, the Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-sectarian organization licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health and serves as a university-affiliated teaching center. Funded privately and by government sources, the Center participates in Medicare, Medicaid and several managed care programs. The Center is the only Jewish facility in New Jersey accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). We proudly display the JCAHO gold seal to demonstrate our commitment to the elderly as we voluntarily seek accreditation from the Joint Commission, a national accrediting body whose standards exceed state and federal requirements.
