About Daytona Waverunners Womens Tackle Football Team
The Daytona Waverunners are a women’s tackle football team, playing NFL-style football. While the Waverunners name is new to the Women's Football Alliance, a majority of the team and staff were apart of the defunct Daytona Breakers. We are a family of former college athletes as well as business professionals from all backgrounds. We are not only elite athletes, but also firefighters, police officers, health professionals, college coaches, teachers, etc. As a player sponsored organization, we rely primarily on player team fees, corporate sponsorship and donations from local businesses to aide in our pursuit of success. Without our sponsors, we would not be where we are today. The Daytona Waverunners take pride in the national status that we have worked so hard to achieve. We are members of the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) along with 67 other teams across the United States and Mexico. We strive to represent our home city as one of the most challenging and most popular locations in the United States and attempt to represent the "World's Most Famous Beach." We travel regionally during regular season play and venture across the country as we work into post-season play. The Waverunners also make every effort to give back to our community. We pursue projects with Habitat for Humanity, the Police Athletic League, and many other charities to create a larger presence and reputation throughout Volusia County. In continuing our pursuit of success, we have been faced with many challenges both on and off the field. That alone serves as the motivation these girls need in 2015 to be faster, smarter, and stronger. We are always seeking raw football talent from individuals willing to contribute and help make our 2015 season a success. If you think you've got what it takes to be a Waverunner, please contact us as soon as possible! We would love to hear from you!
