Danske Bioanalytikere - kaldet dbio - er en landsdækkende fagforening med godt 6.500 medlemmer. Bioanalytiker er den fælles fagbetegnelse for alle de medlemmer, der har en autorisation som bioanalytiker. En række af foreningens øvrige medlemmer har uddannelse som laborant, laboratorietekniker eller anden uddannelse. dbio´s medlemmer arbejder primært i sygehusvæsenet, men også i lægepraksis og private laboratorier. En del er beskæftiget ved universiteterne og i den private industri - her først og fremmest ved forskningsopgaver. Formålet for dbio er ifølge vedtægterne at varetage medlemmernes faglige, sociale og økonomiske interesser samt at arbejde for øget medbestemmelse på arbejdspladsen. dbio arbejder tæt sammen med andre sundhedsorganisationer i Sundhedskartellet og er medlem af hovedorganisationen FTF . Internationalt er dbio medlem af International Federation of Biomedical Laboratory Science (IFBLS), som organiserer bioanalytikere på verdensplan. På europæisk plan er vi medlem af European Association of Professions in Biomedical Science(EPBS). Samt European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU).
