About DC Republican Party
The DC Republican Party is the official Republican Party organization of the District of Columbia and a part of the Republican National Committee. The Republican Party of the District of Columbia is the second oldest state level Republican Party. Only the Republican Party of Wisconsin is older. At its organization in 1855, the D. C. Republican Party adopted its first issues and principles platform. The party periodically revises its platforms. The 1855 platform advocated the immediate emancipation of all persons held as slaves in the District of Columbia, noting that Congress had the authority to do this under the District Clause of the U. S. Constitution. The DC Republican Party has sent Delegates to every Republican National Convention since 1856. José Cunningham is the Chairman of the DC Republican Party and Patrick Mara serves as the Executive Director of the DC GOP. Elected citywide in 2012, Bob Kabel is the Republican National Committeeman and Jill Homan is Republican National Committeewoman. Cunningham, Kabel and Homan represent that DC Republican Party at the Republican National Committee where they are DC's three voting Delegates. Follow us on Facebook or Twitter @dcgop
