What 'De Sjamaan' stands for 'De Sjamaan' is Dutch for 'the Shaman'. We believe that the shamanistic traditions worldwide have a lot to offer to those seeking herbal ingredients to expand their outlook on the world or just to enjoy their effect on body and mind. Most of the products we offer find their roots in these shamanistic traditions or in herbal medicine from around the world. Hence the name 'de Sjamaan'. Who we are With the opening of our first Smartshop in Arnhem in 1994 De Sjamaan was founded with the philosophy to provide a high standard of product expertise and realise ethical sales of quality psychoactive products, food supplements and headshop products. Enthusiasm and drivenness quickly made one store too small. After which De Sjamaan started a number of websites and launched an international wholesale department in 1998. A few years later a new store was opened in the city center of Arnhem and the city center of Nijmegen. Since then we have gained many valuable relationships with our customers both worldwide and local. The wholesale department has gained international repute as reliable factor over decades with customers in various continents. Our retail stores are very well known for the high level of expertise, advise, ethics and sales restrictions. We have an internal training program which includes exams. Currently De Sjamaan is reinventing itself through reformulation, optimization and further professionalizing. In the last years we have greatly improved and enhanced many things in the company. The next step is to expand our team with qualified & level headed doers. Within the company we enjoy working hard in a positive atmosphere and have a low threshold for drama. Within De Sjamaan there often are exciting challenges and in many positions there is opportunity to grow. Pay includes a bonus based on company growth.
