About Deaf Bible Society

Our mission is to provide the Bible by video in the world’s many sign languages. We do this through the Deaf Bible app, available free for Apple and Android devices and online at DeafBible.com. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐟 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞? As many as 80 percent of Deaf children in some countries never receive access to formal education. For those who can read, written language is a second language that requires extra effort. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝? There are more than 350 unique sign languages. Each has its own structure and idioms that go beyond words. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 𝐁𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧? Only American Sign Language has a complete Bible. Other sign languages have portions of Scripture, and we’re working on translation every day. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐲?
