Dearbone Counseling provides therapy and evaluations that help keep you and your family focused on achieving your goals and enjoying a manageable lifestyle. We are a premier source of counseling care and mental health assessment in the state of Illinois and Georgia. Our goal is to help adults, teens, children, families and we specialize in assisting our military service men and women to lead a happy, well-balanced lifestyle by helping them navigate life’s issues. The decision to seek therapy can be a difficult one, so we try to make the experience simple, comfortable, pleasant, and fulfilling for you and your family. My experience and educational background are directly related and have provided me with a well-rounded background in therapy. I am a veteran with 25 plus years of experience working with patients in psychiatric hospitals, state mental health facilities, Illinois Department of Corrections, Federal Bureau of Justice and in private practice. My professional goal is building a close bond with my clients. I enjoy doing this by using humor, genuine care, and respect of each individual, which creates a serene therapeutic environment. Through emphatic listening, relaxation exercises, cognitive behavior therapy, clients are able to persevere in pursuance of achieving their goal. At DCC, I offer individual, group, couple, and family therapy for children and adults. I work with clients experiencing life transitions with depression, anxiety, grief, loss, trauma, and addictions. I also work with military families to assess and treat behavioral health problems that result from the trauma of war.
