Every four years we watch the presidential debates so that we can make an informed decision on who our leader of the United States should be. In between those four years we watch our elite members of society debate and discuss today’s topics day after day on large media hubs. If we want to hear from the common person we need to go to social media. The issue with social media is that we are currently restricted to text communication. This leaves us vulnerable to misunderstanding and everything that comes with a dehumanizing form of communication in text like hate speech. How can a common person lead with a profile picture? How can a powerful speech be delivered with a keyboard? A big reason that there is a large difference in power between elites and the common person is the fact that there is no stage for the common person to stand up and lead. Debatable is that solution. Debatable is a live video debating social media platform that allows the everyday man or woman to become a true leader through debate. This is the place to organize social movements and lead social movements. No longer do we need to have disproportionate power in order to be heard, all we need is an internet connection. This is more than a social media platform, this is bringing the town hall to the web where every post can turn into the next big debate and every big debate can turn into the next great social movement. According to the Pew Research Center 42% of Facebookers and 41% of Twitter users in America enjoy using these platforms for debate, but when it comes to face to face interaction 86% of America has an opinion to share. Debatable is the first social platform that bridges face to face conversation and online social media interaction. In all debatable is a platform that can truly change the world. Because if you can change the minds of people you will change their actions and when you change their actions you will change the course of human history.
