Deborah is on a mission to change the world of events from just pretty, budget-draining parties into noteworthy, revenue-generating strategic channels. For more that 18 years Deborah advanced in the ranks within the mortgage and retail/commercial banking industries, rated one of the top 10 mortgage specialists, awarded $10MM in concurrent limits in commercial lending (an honour bestowed to less than 5%) and achieving 1st in her division within York Region and 3rd Nationally. Because of her unique skills and accomplishments, she was also given the task of training mortgage brokers within the industry. But, wait. What does this have to do with events? While busy winning awards, adding letters to the end of her name and racking up industry acknowledgements, she noticed something jarring. Most events she attended for business were, simply put, parties. Parties that got people together under one roof but seemed to lack memorability, originality and impact. That's when the lightbulb switched on. Deborah began planning 'a different kind of event’ for peers and clients. People began talking. And the list of people who wanted to hire her to plan their events continually grew…until she had to make a decision about where to focus her time. Old life or this seemingly new one? The choice was simple. Events allowed her to joyfully juggle her two favourite passions: creativity and business. Deborah Kerbel Events was born - a planning company that creates flawless events focused on real, measurable results. To date, Deborah has produced events for major financial institutions and industry A-listers. Deborah holds an MBA and Psychology degree and a certificate of Event Planning from the New York Institute of Art and Design.
