About Debra Lyons Art
It would seem I arrived on this earth with crayons in hand. As a third generation artist, I was always given the freedom to explore and experience art in many forms. Everywhere I gaze, I’m forming compositions full of color, texture, tone and balance. I feel very privileged and blessed to see the world as I do. Today, through the freedom to pursue my dreams, I want my work to continue to bring life, light and joy to all who view and own it. There is nothing greater than sharing my ‘vision’ with others. Yes, I am truly blessed. I reside in San Diego, CA with my husband of 35 years, our 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. As a life-long resident of San Diego, I studied Art at San Diego State University, and had also been involved in independent studies with accomplished artists to hone my techniques in watercolor, acrylic and live drawing. Over the course of my career, I have personally explored realism, impressionism and abstract expressionism, in mediums including acrylic, watercolors, oils, encaustic and resin. To create exciting, full of life art, an artist has to be excited about what they create. I stay excited and involved in what I do by exploring different techniques, styles and mediums. I work mainly on gallery wrapped canvas and cradled boards. The paintings continue around the edges for a contemporary look that needs no framing. The painting sizes range from small to very large. I sell mostly originals with a few select prints. I also do commissions. Original art adds life to any space. Come explore and dream.
