About Def Uk
DEF UK is a privately owned, industry leading, life safety systems manufacturer. The first DEF business was created in France in 1958 by Daniel Lecuyer, who was convinced that electronic fire detection would expand to widespread use. Over the next 60+ years, DEF would grow both as a manufacturing business but also as a systems integrator. With a continued drive for innovation, the DEF research and development department lead the way in life safety technology, introducing the first analogue addressable system in in 1980’s. As the DEF brand expanded throughout France, new European business were created – striving for similar success as the French business. In total, over 50 life safety related businesses form the DEF Network. In 2019, the DEF UK business was launched. With an enviable first contract win, the DEF UK team look to provide our customers and clients with industry leading, innovative and efficient systems to protect their people and property.
