We help investors in AI with 1. early due diligence, 2. AI training of investment team members, 3. deploying AI and other software in operations of data driven investors, and 4. other advisory services, including advising portfolio companies. Early AI due diligence We provide early due diligence in the form of knowledge empowerment for investors. We would prefer NOT to give a thumbs up or down to any venture. Rather, we would describe the factors that should play into our clients' own investment decision making. As much as possible these factors would be in investor language, but details are important. In order to communicate those details for a complex and hyped space like AI applied to even more complex, vertical domains, we would recommend that clients invest in 5-6 well-trodden, AI training sessions with us. Most deals require collaborating with other vertical domain experts for holistic evaluation. Typically, these early due diligence efforts take 1-4 days. Verbal feedback to determine the need for written reports can help optimize time. Asset verification, such as code reviews, in later stages of due diligence is out of scope. AI Training The content in these sessions is current and was originally developed in 2016. It cuts across the latest hot and fashionable trends in AI to give deep intuition using simple algebra and human analogies. In other words, your investment in these sessions would bring returns as long as AI imparts investable virtues to deals - hardness, uniqueness and defensibility. Investor Operations AI can play a pivotal role in deal flow productivity for investor team members, and we can help. While external AI services can be used for many use cases, confidentiality is critical. The safest and personalized approach is to also deploy custom AI in-house for the most data-driven impact. Fortunately, open-source Gen AI provides a path to do this.
