The name Defiance holds a dual meaning. It is both a reference to the Faulkner family’s symbol of a falcon and the bold spirit that guides the brand. Defiance first planted along the Creston Valley hillside in 2012. With a natural balance in the soil, terrain, and climate our terroir offers a unique and sustainable home for our portfolio of premium quality Bordeaux and Petite Sirah varieties. Defiance Vineyard captures the stunning views and laid back comfort and convenience of beautiful Central Coast. The vineyard is run and operated by the Faulkner family, drawing on each individuals passion and expertise. It is a culmination of years of hard work, as all of the infrastructure and facilities were also built by the family. The three sisters, Erin, Brianna, and Vincenta now run this women led wine brand, both promoting women in business and in the wine industry.
