About Defy Racism

Our mission is to empower marginalized at-risk youth to address systemic racism by equipping them with unique programs and tools to build vibrant, just communities. Through youth-led visual media storytelling campaigns, grassroots community organizing, and transformative leadership training, we raise awareness, drive change, and foster a more equitable future for BIPOC. Defy Racism, established in 2024 amidst a growing movement recognizing racism as a public health crisis, is a youth-led initiative dedicated to dismantling systemic racism. Understanding that racism's impact extends beyond healthcare, Defy Racism empowers marginalized youth to become agents of change within their communities. By providing tools and platforms for creative storytelling, grassroots organizing, and transformative leadership training, the organization focuses on cultivating future leaders, amplifying marginalized voices, and fostering sustainable solutions for equitable communities.
