About DeGregorio Family Foundation

The DeGregorio Family Foundation (DFF) raises funds to financially support critical research grants and education to enable early detection and effective treatment therapies for the deadly diseases of stomach and esophageal cancer. It is the only public foundation solely focused on funding research grants for both of these cancers, also known as gastroesophageal cancer. FACTS: • More than 1.4 million people globally will be diagnosed with an upper GI cancer annually – aggressive diseases with high mortality rates. • Patients diagnosed with esophageal and stomach cancers have on average an 21.6% and 36.4% respectively survival rates after 5 years of diagnosis. • Gastric and esophageal cancer rank among the lowest of major cancer types in terms of research and development dollars. Since its inception in 2006, DFF has raised $7.9 million dollars and has acted as a catalyst for $55.5 million dollars in additional research. With this essential funding and encouraging collaboration amongst researchers, the goal is to discover effective treatment options and one day a cure.
