About Delta Lodging Group

DLG is the largest privately owned select service hospitality and hotel management company in Mississippi. DLG currently operates 12 hotels, with new projects in development. Our original story began in 1985, when Dr. V.K. Chawla received his first franchise for a hotel, the Comfort Inn of Greenwood. At the time. Dr. Chawla owned a small convenience store in Greenwood, but had dreams of opening a modern hotel. Dr. Chawla was unable to secure financing for the project until 1988, and in 1989 the hotel was opened. In 2019 the company was rebranded under new leadership from Chawla Hotels to Delta Lodging Group, LLC. The company leadership has now evolved to a corporate team that now manages the day to day business operations. The DLG corporate office is located in Itta Bena, Mississippi. Today, DLG is owned by Suresh Chawla and employs several hundred team members to provide exceptional guest services to visitors from around the globe.
