Demeter Investment Holdings is a Cayman incorporated entity that has a European Medium Term Note Programme listed on the Vienna MTF. It raises funding through the Programme to deploy into various financial strategies that seek alpha returns. Examples of some of these strategies include using algorithms to enhance returns on large, liquid, listed asset classes such as ETFs, currencies or equities. The objective is to generate returns through the use of these technologies over an exposure into the same underlying financial asset. Nearly all major asset classes can be covered. The Demeter bonds have also been used in lieu of performance bonds in development, project and green financing as they tend to be backed by highly rated instruments issued by global organisations. This has the benefit of providing the developer with returns in excess of the standard cash returns currently earned. Demeter works with a series of global banks to ensure that the investment strategies are executed in a controlled manner, and where appropriate, operational risks are mitigated by the infrastructure of these large organisations. It seeks to partner with them so that they can bring the best of their expertise to the Programme, yet benefit from the Demeter financial structures and algorithms.
