About Derbyshire Institute of Sport
Derbyshire Institute of Sport is a unique organisation on a mission to develop, inspire and support athletes to become champions. Our purpose is to give athletes the best possible chance of becoming world-class through affordable, accessible support that can be delivered in person or online. This means we work with athletes and team players outside our home county of Derbyshire. The DIS is a Community Interest Company and receives no Government funding. We run a Thrive sponsorship package, which delivers a host of benefits to business sponsors in return for their donations that allow us to keep costs as low as possible to our athletes. Our team at DIS have all competed or coached at high levels, so they understand the sacrifices and costs that ambitious athletes and their families face. We also support business leaders to become champions in their sectors through our Business Champions Club.
