Descartes Learning Club is a boutique premium math and logic enrichment program provider that offers individualized, engaging, and inspiring after-school math classes through a tiny class size of 1-6 students, expert instructors, and a highly engaging and personalized curriculum. Their learning experience is much more productive and enjoyable than in larger classes due to the 1:1 Socratic dialogs investigating math while benefiting from individually calibrated challenges and collaborative peer learning. 2) Curriculums and pedagogy that develop problem-solving minds and a love for learning mathematics: Using evidence-based research and time-tested best practices, we teach math abstraction and problem-solving strategies beyond calculation. We also introduce the beauty of mathematics and broaden students' math knowledge through a rich mix of problems, puzzles, and games. 3) Compassionate and rigorously trained expert instructors: We interview >50 applicants for each instructor we hire. Our instructors have a background in math or related fields, a passion for educating children, and experience teaching math or STEM subjects. We further train them using our rigorous training program and regularly coach all our instructors to ensure the highest quality.
