About Desert Healthcare District
Desert Healthcare District was created in 1948 to serve residents within a 457 square-mile area of the Coachella Valley. The District includes Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs, Cathedral City, Thousand Palms, Rancho Mirage, Mountain Center, San Gorgonio and the area of Palm Desert west of Cook Street. Our Mission Promote good health for the District’s residents by providing community grants and by protecting and enhancing the assets of the District. Our Vision To be a leader in promoting a healthier community and higher quality of life for all District residents. To help meet healthcare needs in the District by continually enhancing our expertise, assessing the provision of health care services, reaching out to leading agencies to support their efforts, and advocating effective health care policy to key decision makers.
