Design, project management and planning services in Florida and Georgia. Thomas H. Perdue, NCARB architect/planner Thomas H. Perdue has been an architect, design & production manager, construction manager and urban planner for projects throughout the United States and internationally since 1968. He established Design Affiliation Architecture in downtown Jacksonville, Florida in 1973. DAA has completed a variety of projects throughout the United States. Perdue is proactive in new development directions emphasizing multi-modal transit options, and is known for his active concern about Jacksonville's development. Presently he is developing his own long range plan, Jacksonville 21 Plan, which he hopes will get more public/private sector parties involved. During the 1980's the Florida Times-Union dubbed Perdue "the Renovator of Downtown Jacksonville," as he was completing so many buildings there during that period, including the former El Modelo Block Building (1887 Building), thought to be Jacksonville's oldest commercial structure. Perdue is also a noted trendsetting retail designer, reinventing the strip mall to create inviting shopping environments and innovative design features,including the first shopping center to be called a "Power Center" by trade magazines, and an award-winning center in Fort Lauderdale, still doing well despite retail decline in the surrounding area. He has completed more than 15 million square feet of retail.
