Design Element Studio designs and builds ambient interiors. Materials and design follow concept. Often working with architecture and design firms, DES fills the niche between high concept designs and the elements required for their finest execution. Founded by artist Annika Newell, DES brings over 20 years of hands-on expertise to each project. This span of time has developed a knowledge base of unique resources, problem solving techniques and valuable inroads with a wide range of diverse trade professionals. This Summer 2010, DES is launching the sister company Ambient Strata, that will specialize in interior objects of desire. Their designs are intentionally “scale-able” and modular to adapt to a wide range of settings from commercial to household venues.
