About Design Engineering Workshop
Design Engineering Workshop are an award-winning structural and civil engineering consultancy who specialise in architectural and design-led projects. We engage with individuals, architects, designers, artists & sculptors, developers, companies, retailers, charities, government departments, churches and local authorities on a wide variety of projects from inception to completion. Our core business is to provide professional services based on the structural design of buildings. This is usually complemented with associated civil engineering design to involve sustainable drainage and earthworks design. As a practice, we are motivated by finding solutions to often tricky problems. We are analytic and creative engineers and understand that our strengths lie in accommodating challenging architectural design where others would not. We have a varied approach to structural engineering practice, with a focus on computational methods for analysing and design. As such, we are accomplished in combining first principles engineering with computational analysis, allowing us to push the prescriptive boundaries imposed by codes where appropriate and where necessary. In our civil engineering practice, we are committed to promoting sustainable drainage solutions and advocate for surface level collection and conveyance of rainwater in all schemes where possible to enhance amenity and biodiversity. We are a deliberately small practice and the aim of this is to ensure that each of our clients and collaborators receive the same service and level of detail regardless of who you are working with.
