Deutsche Offshore Schifffahrt is offering a new type of support vessel to the offshore energy market: construction commissioning service operation vessels (C-CSOVs). The joint venture with Schoeller Holdings has ordered four vessels from CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. which are due to hit the market beginning Q1 2027 and secured additional optional vessels. Established in 2023, Deutsche Offshore Schifffahrt has innovated the prevailing CSOV designs in order to develop a multi purpose vessel aimed at serving the entire range of Offshore Energy Markets. While in its primary nature the vessels offer benchmark capabilities for commissioning and servicing Offshore Wind Parks, it will further be applicable to a wide range of light construction and installation works as well as IMR and cable repair tasks. As such, the vessel is aimed at fostering the green energy transition by offering year around CSOV capacity and relieving high value Offshore Wind installation tonnage by working in symbiosis with them. At the same time, it offers the Subsea market a new approach to cover diverse tasks in a cost effective fashion. Technical management as well as crewing will be provided by Columbia Shipmanagement, which, like the multipurpose cargo shipping company AAL, is part of Schoeller Holdings. Columbia Shipmanagement comprises vast experience in technically operating highly complex vessels with the ability to efficiently run hotel operations on board of a vessel.
