Hello everyone and welcome to the di Lenardo Estate !! My name is Vittorio di Lenardo and it’s a great pleasure to escort you in your first steps into get to know our family Cellar and our way of doing things. Our history starts in 1878 when our ancestors fell in love with the countryside of a small town named Ontagnano, located in the heart of Friuli Venezia Giulia, and decided to invest in it and in this project. However it was only around the late ‘900 that the real change took place…my father Massimo and my grandfather Alberto seeing the potential of the area decided to give their all to this company; they focused on combining our winemaking heritage with the newest technology of the time, improving both the growing system in the vineyards and the vinification system in the cellar. As of today, all our wines are still made using only property grapes, strictly selected and handpicked from our 5 vineyards located here in Ontagnano. Our region, Friuli Venezia Giulia, is one of the few Italian Regions specialized in the production of white wines due to its geography conformation and the unique weather that follows (we are surrounded north from the Alps and south from the Adriatic see). As my father is always telling me, our philosophy is to emphasize what our soil is generously giving us: the pure fruitiness, the acidity and the minerality that we find in all our grapes.
