About Diana Budisavljević International Research Foundation
Diana Budisavljevic is responsible for initiating the largest humanitarian action by an individual in WWII. She rescued 10,000 to 15,000 Serbian Orthodox children from Croatian Ustasha concentration camps in the fascist "Independent State of Croatia" of 1941-1945. Our organization's prime goals are to share Diana's story with the world, to spread awareness of this genocide, the Serbian Genocide of WWII whereby hundreds of thousands of Orthodox Serbs were brutally exterminated due to their ethnicity and religion and to advocate for child survivors of this genocide. Other objectives include the empowerment of children through the creation of libraries and parks dedicated to Diana's name.
