About Dickinson & Rabbitte
We are a Nottingham firm of cost lawyers and draftsmen dealing with all aspects of between the parties and legal aid costs. Both Directors have over 25 years of costing experience and were Associates of the former Association of Law Cost Draftsmen. Patrick Rabbitte is a Cost Lawyer with extensive advocacy experience and rights of audience. The company has a strong commitment to on-going professional development and all employees are fully conversant and up to date with the rapidly changing face of costs. We have a diverse client base covering all areas of law; we undertake work for firms throughout the UK and even Northern Ireland. The majority of our case load involves dealing with between the parties costs – for both Claimant and Defendant. Most of our clients prefer us to deal with the entire costs process on their behalf, from drafting the initial claim to negotiating thereon and dealing with all other required steps of the assessment process. We are one of the preferred suppliers to the biggest legal aid franchised firm in the UK, with around 30% of our case load relating to publicly funded costs. This is a rare commodity in the ever declining and less lucrative legal aid market, with a recent survey of Cost Lawyers indicating that only around 25% were still involved in legal aid. Some of our team were extensively involved with the CCMS pilot scheme and we are now regularly using the on-line billing system.
