We are an architectural practice operating internationally, with our roots in Vorarlberg. Our team of over 140 people works together on a wide range of tasks, making decisions collectively and learning from each other. By avoiding specialisation, we remain alert, creative and innovative. We are curious, inquisitive, research-driven and communicative. We treat resources and context with respect, cultivating and developing our passion for modern timber construction. We have played a pioneering role in this field from the very beginning. We are committed to creating sustainable, socially balanced and high-quality spaces with their own identity. We always consider the specific context of a building project. What are the qualities of the landscape, the built environment and the local craftsmanship? What are the social characteristics? What is the climate like? At the same time, we analyse the function of the proposed building. What tasks must it fulfil and how can we ensure maximum user comfort? Are there synergies between the different uses? How do the interior and exterior interact? Using regional materials and, wherever possible, traditional craftsmanship is also very important to us. This strengthens the relationship with the location and increases identification with the community. We recognise that the role of the construction industry is changing, and we are seizing this opportunity to challenge conventional thinking. We develop contemporary solutions together with our clients and craftspeople in an interdisciplinary process on an equal footing.
