About Digital Heritage Initiative of the Coastal Bend
The Digital Heritage Initiative of the Coastal Bend (DHI) helps small-town historical organizations and sites thrive in the modern era by creating interactive digital exhibits, mobile guides, and immersive storytelling experiences — all at no cost to the organizations themselves. Founded by Eric Bryan Gonzales, Megan Lewis, and Daniel Boylan, DHI exists to bring attention, relevance, and renewed pride to the people and places often overlooked. Every DHI exhibit is a collaboration. We partner with local historical societies and museums, build and launch exhibits under the DHI brand, and then market them with full force to drive engagement, visitation, and community momentum. The result isn’t just a better exhibit — it’s a revitalized town experience. Local businesses see increased foot traffic. Communities reconnect with their heritage. Tourism grows. And stories that were once hidden become sources of identity and pride. DHI is committed to making history not only accessible but unforgettable — helping small towns thrive by spotlighting the stories that shaped them.
