About Digital Youth International

We are the Digital Youth International (DYI), an international organization focusing on online safety and digital rights of minors. Nowadays, the world is growing hyperconnected at an unprecedented pace. Given that the technology has been innovated and revolutionized for generations, the safety and rights of children and teanagers still remain relatively behindhand. While social media, online games, and educational apps admittedly provide convenience for social connection, they also expose minors to certain dangers like cyberbullying, privacy risks, and digital exploitation. Despite these nonnegligible issues, young people’s voices are also often overlooked in shaping digital policies. As one third of the Internet’s current users, young people are playing a vital role in numerous digital events. Moreover, as the “natives” of the Internet, minors are likely to provide constructive ideas. As a result, certain rights and equality of minors should be guaranteed and protected. With such international vision, thus, DYI was founded. We aim to ensure that every child can safely explore, express themselves, and participate in the digital world, by observing the phenomenon, speaking out the risks, and empowering the rights of minors.
