About Disabled Students UK

Disabled Students UK is a disabled-led organisation made up of current and former students. Since our creation in February 2020 we have quickly become the biggest disabled student-led organisation in the UK with 500 contributors from 60 different universities. We are campaigning for increased accessibility in Higher Education Disabled Students UK was created after a 2020 report describing widespread disability discrimination at a London University was spread to other universities, eliciting recognition from disabled students all across the UK. Poor adherence to the 2010 Equality Act as it relates to disability is reported at a variety of universities as well as by a number of national reports. We envision a world where disabled students have the same access to education as non-disabled students. We believe we can create real change if we work together.
