About Dispute Resolution Center of King County
The Dispute Resolution Center of King County (KCDRC) is a non-profit agency that provides mediation and conflict resolution services for individuals, businesses, and families in Seattle' King County. The DRC is a community mediation center, using professional mediators who volunteer their time to help us solve thousands of disputes per year on behalf of the agency. This approach helps the agency keep its fees low and allows us to offer a sliding scale for payment of mediation services The DRC offers facilitative-style mediation via Zoom during the pandemic. In the before times, we conducted services at our office at the historic Good Shepherd Center in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle. We also provide mediation services at Small Claims Courts in the county so that people can choose mediation instead of litigation on the same day of their small claims trial. All DRCs must operate as non-profit, city or county organizations and must offer services to clients regardless of their ability to pay. The vast majority of mediation services provided by DRCs are delivered by professional mediators who volunteer their time.
