About Diverse City
Diverse City is a charity championing equity, access, and representation across the UK’s cultural landscape. For over 15 years, we’ve been at the forefront of inclusive practice—on stage, behind the scenes, in leadership, and in communities. Our work brings together artists and audiences often excluded from mainstream theatre and performance—disabled people, people from the global majority, working-class communities, LGBTQIA+ people, and anyone facing structural barriers to participation. We believe in long-term change. That means not just representation, but transformation. Our approach is built around getting more people: 🔹 IN – challenging the gatekeeping that limits access to creative careers. 🔹 ON – supporting artists to grow, lead, and shine in paid, visible roles. 🔹 SEEN – platforming stories that reflect real, complex lives. 🔹 HEARD – advocating for cultural equity at every level of the sector. Through acclaimed productions like Mid Life and What Am I Worth?, the groundbreaking work of Extraordinary Bodies (our partnership with Cirque Bijou), and a national programme of residencies, mentoring, and artist development, we’re reshaping who gets to belong in the arts. We also support arts organisations and employers through training, access planning, inclusive recruitment, and leadership development—helping to build a sector where equity is embedded, not added on. If you're ready to move from intention to impact, we’d love to collaborate. Get in touch: info@diversecity.org.uk Learn more: diversecity.org.uk
