About Diversity and Advocacy Committee (Engineering Student Society)
The Diversity Advocacy Committee is a branch of the Engineering Students’ Society designed to represent Schulich School of Engineering students (and students at the University of Calgary) by bringing awareness on issues world-wide and at the local stage. The Engineering Students’ Society is one of the largest clubs on the University of Calgary’s campus. Like many others, the team puts a strong emphasis on equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) of our students while promoting social, academic, and professional activities throughout the year. One such example of this is the Diversity Commissioner, whose sole purpose is to promote EDI. As such, the ESS Diversity Commissioner acts as a liaison between ESS and the committee to expand the reach to all students in the community.
