About DJB Instruments
DJB Instruments UK Ltd has been a trusted name in vibration sensing since 1974, when it was founded as DJ Birchall Ltd. Today, we continue to design and manufacture a wide range of IEPE and charge accelerometers, cables, instrumentation and accessories from our UK headquarters in Mildenhall, Suffolk. With our own CNC machine shop, cable assembly area and accredited calibration laboratory, we offer full control over the entire production process, from initial design through to dispatch. We’re proud to uphold the traditions of quality British manufacturing, combining precision engineering with continuous innovation. DJB is the only accelerometer manufacturer in the world using the patented Konic Shear™ design, which provides excellent performance with significantly reduced cross-axis error. Our product range includes several industry firsts, including ultra-high temperature IEPE accelerometers rated up to 185°C, water-cooled triaxial sensors capable of testing up to 900°C, and the world’s smallest IEPE accelerometer, weighing just 0.19 grams. Many of our standard products are available from stock and are dispatched within 48 hours. In 2021, DJB became part of the Condition Monitoring Technology Group (CMTG), a collaborative group of engineering companies specialising in advanced sensing, test and analysis solutions. Being part of CMTG has opened up new opportunities for joint R&D, academic partnerships and in-house material development. CMTG includes: Beran Instruments and Helitune (Torrington, North Devon) Prosig (Fareham, Hampshire) Semia (near Paris, France) SEI (Chicago, USA) Additional facilities in Munich, Germany Together, CMTG designs, manufactures and supports world-class condition monitoring and test and measurement solutions for the aviation, power generation, automotive, advanced engineering, defence and manufacturing industries.
