About Doing Social
Doing Social (DS) is a not-for-profit social enterprise (company limited by guarantee) with charitable objectives, based in Southwark, London. Our work seeks to advance inclusive innovation in the UK so it can benefit people who are underserved within adult education and health systems. DS believes that inclusive innovation offers the best chance of creating equitable access to: • Care and support that improves health and nurtures wellbeing • Adult education that leads to healthier and more fulfilled lives People we serve: Adults neglected or discriminated within education and health systems in the UK. We focus on groups that are minoritised, racialised or socially or economically excluded by reason of their identity, place of birth or life circumstance. The common denominator in the groups we exist to serve is that they are also disadvantaged financially/economically. What we do: (A) Creative experiments in inclusive innovation (B) Curating an evidence base and information to inspire adoption of justice-based inclusive innovation (C) A critical friend, helping weave justice-based principles into processes / systems and evaluating outcomes (D) Strengthening the sustainability of the inclusive innovation sector (E) Designing processes that develop agentic capabilities. How: Learning partnerships with organisations (strategic, place-based and communities of interest) contributing to building an ‘inclusive innovation’ infrastructure in order to tackle systemic injustices and inequities in health or adult education.
