Dolfin S.p.A. è un’azienda dolciaria che, da oltre un secolo, fa capo alla famiglia Finocchiaro di Giarre, in provincia di Catania. Inizia la sua attività nel 1914 con la produzione artigianale di caramelle. Successivamente si sviluppa con la produzione di confetti e cannellina e la commercializzazione di prodotti tipici siciliani a diffusione nazionale. Dal 1964 produce uova di cioccolata per la Pasqua. Dolfin è leader del mercato con i Polaretti®, ghiaccioli a base di vero succo di frutta da gelare a casa e amatissimi dai bambini. Polaretti® è un marchio registrato. Inventato da Dolfin negli anni Novanta, è diventato un prodotto di successo tanto da essere entrato nel linguaggio comune, come metafora di una sensazione diffusa di freddo. Sempre da gelare nel frigo di casa, sorbetti, granite e ghiaccioli a base di succo di frutta (sensofreddo); e ancora uova di cioccolato per Pasqua; monete di cioccolato, praline e dolciumi per le calze della Befana a Natale. Dolfin, since 1914, is a confectionery factory run by the Finocchiaro family from Giarre. After the sweets, Dolfin took up the challenge of confetti with a crunchy Sicilian almond heart and then cannellinas, the spicy sweet with a vague hint of the Orient. In 1964 comes the first chocolate factory with the first Easter eggs "made in Sicily". In the Nineties, through the intuition and success of Polaretti®, come the popsicles with fruit juice ready to freeze in the freezer at home and now exported all over the world. The rest is recent history: ice slushes and sorbets with Sicilian citrus, frozen snacks, fruit snacks for delicious refreshing breaks throughout the summer and, for the rest of the year, there is chocolate in a thousand irresistible forms: pennies for Christmas, sweets in Epiphany stockings, Easter eggs, chocolates and playful pralines coloured with the cartoon characters most loved by children all over the world.
